The groundbreaking, first CD-ROM science journal Arctic Data InterActive (ADI) was developed as a prototype electronic journal and set new standards for emerging areas of information design. ADI offered interactive navigation of complex and dense material including animations, satellite time series data, awareness of global climate change and warming that the polar regions were beginning to experience. In 1992 ADI received the Presidential Design Award from Bill Clinton at a White House Ceremony.
An Online Emulation of ADI was created in 2018 to showcase the original CD-ROM, which is unplayable in modern Windows and Macintosh systems due to the Hypercard software being long obsolete.
